A.
- Inflammatory response occurs when tissues are damaged.
- This tissue injury may be caused by infection, trauma, heat etc
or any other cause.
- The damaged tissue cell liberate chemicals like histamine,
bradykinins, prostaglandins etc which release fluid from blood
vessels into the tissue this causing swelling( inflammation).
- These chemicals also attract phagocytic cells of the immune
system to engulf the damaged cells.
B.There are two methods of initiation of inflammation:
- Acute and chronic inflammation.
- Acute inflammation is the initial response to the pathogen when
it enters for the firstl time into the body.
- Prolonged inflammation leads to chronic mode where the degree
of severity of the immune response to the pathogen is more .
There is a shift in type of cells which destroy the damaged
cells progressively and can trigger healing fastly.
