Discuss, with examples, how socio-technical systems can facilitate the provision of positive and negative synergies for their participants. Discuss both (i) Network Reliability, and (ii) Resilience challenges that the Internet faces as a socio-technical system.

Ans: Let's take an overview about the Social synergy.In the simple words we can define the social synergy is basically a way by which our society are designed in such a way that the we as a human work more creatively and effectively together.

So , by the above definition we see that the Social synergy is fruitful for all the individual that work together for the common goal.Synergy is simply the we can say that it is a property of the social interaction, not for the social individuals.

This Social synergy is positive when the people  create value for others; for this let's see an example.Here we take the example of the poultry farm, here if the poultry-man  trades excess chickens  for the farmer's excess grain,by this it turn to produce excess into value. By this the all farmers are making benefits by producing the extras ,for this they didn't need difficult to do.And here the negative synergy arises when they(farmer's) making the conflict ,as a result they creates negative outcomes for the other.

(i) Network Reliability: Network Reliability is simply we can define it as the ability of the network that carry out the desire operations like the communication. To perform the network reliability in the communication system we can perform the following solutions:

• By decreasing number of links between the origin and the destination nodes.
• By improving the  reliability that of the individual components of the network.

(ii) Resilience challenges that the Internet faces as a socio-technical system: Socio-technical system is basically concern about the systems engineering issues and organizational and the human parts that concern about the  social sciences issues.Basically their are four main resilience functions:

• Avoidance.
• Resistance.
• Recovery .
• Adaptation.

To deal with the resilience challenges that the internet faces as a socio-technical system , by performing the all the above four resilience functions.
