Solutions

Expert Solution

Solution:-  Qualitative variable are those variable which are defined by names,, we can't make any mathematical operation on qualitative variables.

Quantitative variables are the variables which are always represented by some numbers. We can apply mathematical operations on quantitative variables. ( Descrete variables have values at some intervals.

Continuous variables can have all possible numbers within an interval.)

A. colur of automobile on used car lot

variable - colour

can not be represented by numbers.

  Qualitative variable.

B. The number on the shirt of a girl's soccer team.

variable- Number.

Since only positive integers mostly used to write as jersey numbers. It is descrete.

  Discrete quantitative variable.

C. The number on seats in a movie theatre.

Variable - number

Number on seats in a movie theater are written as 1,2,3,... etc. We can't find any numbers in decimal in theater.

Quantitative discrete variable.

D. List of house number on streets

variable - house number.

House numbers are always natural numbers,, can't be a decimal number.

Quantitative discrete variable.

E. Age of 350 employees.

Variable -age.

Age can be any number from 0 to 100 approximately. in years. It can be 5.28 years something,, in decimals too.

Quantitative continuous variable.
