The role of human factor is an important one in performance management systems. Performance management system includes activities which ensures that goals are consistently being met in efficient and effective manner.

This has to be understood that human aspect is the core of management, management took birth because of humans, for humans and by humans. It is the performance of a man made organization which has to be managed through this system and human factor is an important factor.

The responsibility of performance lies majorly on the human elements and the success and failure of the organization lies on these elements as well.

The following things can be done to achieve competitive advantage through performance management system:

• Time should be fixed to assess performance at regular intervals
• Do informal checks on the activities of employees, this can also be done through calls.
• Take feedback from all the stakeholders.
• Effective control mechanism should be implemented.
• To seek inputs from the employee actively on how to improve performance
• Reduction of those elements that hinders or prevent good performance of employees etc.
