The total mass of a solution is 2670 g. The solvent mass is 2150 g. What is the mass percent, %(w/w), of the solute?

Solutions

Expert Solution

The total mass of a solution is 2670 g.

The solvent mass is 2150 g

The mass of solute        = The total mass of a solution-The solvent mass

                                        = 2670-2150   = 520g

The mass percentage of solute = mass of solute *100/total mass of solution

                                                   = 520*100/2670    = 19.5%
