Describe the components for doing classicial experiment?

Solutions

Expert Solution

  • The most customary experiment consists of three main parts:Independent and Dependent Variables;Pre-testing and Post-testing;Experimental Control Groups.
  • The development of the classic experimental design involves several important components. First being, selection and assignment, involves two comparable groups: the test group and the control group. These groups are equivalent except that you expose the test group to the independent variable or treatment. The control group does not receive the stimulus but instead serves as a baseline for evaluating the behavior (dependent variable) of the experimental group or test group.
  • The second component pretest. The pretest enhances the validity of the procedure because it helps you determine the equivalency of the groups. The pretest results for each group should be similar.
  • The third component is to treat the test group. In other words, the experimenter subject the group to the independent variable.
  • The fourth component is to posttest each group in order to measure the dependent variable. The purpose of this step is to determine the impact of the independent variable on the behavior of the test group.
  • Fifth component is to compare the measurement results to see if there are differences between the two groups.

Locate an online article that describe the result of an experiment or study.describe as many components of the research as you can. This might include the method used (e.g., naturalistic observation), hypothesis, independent variable, dependent variable, experimental group(s), control group(s), sample, and the results (as well as any other factors you find interesting or relevant). Can you think of any next steps, or ways the study may be improved? What is the name of the article and is should be...

Monica and Dylan are doing a “thought experiment”. They are imagining that Monica is in a space ship orbiting a black hole, just outside the event horizon, while Dylan is in a space ship 1 light year away. Monica and Dylan each send each other a signal using a laser. From each of their perspectives, their laser flashes once a second. To Dylan, is Monica’s laser flashing faster, slower or at the same rate (once a second)? Similarly, how fast...
