The components of the Ecosystem:
An ecosystem is a community of living organisms
in conjunction with the nonliving components of their environment
which includes the things like air, water and mineral soil,
interacting as a system. These biotic and abiotic components are
regarded as linked together through nutrient cycles and energy
flows.Therefore the components of the ecosystem are as follows;
- Abiotic Components:The abiotic components of
an ecosystem are all of the nonliving elements like the air, water
and mineral soil,etc.
- Producers at the Base:Producers are the living
organisms in the ecosystem that take in energy from sunlight and
use it to transform carbon dioxide and oxygen into sugars.
- Consumers in the Chain: Consumers are further
subdivided by what they eat,Herbivores eat producers, carnivores
eat other animals and omnivores eat both producers and
herbivores.
- Decomposers and Nutrient Cycling: Decomposers
are the living component of the ecosystem that breaks down waste
material and dead organisms.
