A foreign policy is basically a set of strategies formed by the state in order to safeguard the national interests and build international relations. Whereas domestic policies are a set of strategies within a state or a nation. The major difference between the two is that foreign policies invests in International relations whereas Domestic policies do not.
Sometimes, there may be cases when both the policies conflict with each other. During a pandemic, the nation might want to look after its own people once, safegauard them rather than building internaltional relations with other countries. If they do so, then it might be possible that the people of their own nation, might not believe in their own government which might have an adverse effect.
Isolationist policy is one wherein, the nation isolates itself from other countries and stands for its own people. US should follow such policy during pandemic because there is a high rise increase in the number of cases, and before looking out to the relations with other countires, it needs to make its own roots stronger . After that only it can stand affirmly in competiton to other countries.
