As we have to determine whether respondents with diabetes have a different number of days of poor mental health than respondents who do not have diabetes, we will approach the problem in the following way:
We have two different groups of people:
1. People who have diabetes
2. People who do not have diabetes
For both the groups, we want to determine the average number of days with poor mental health.
In this case, independent groups t-test will be used. Both groups are independent and we want to check whether the mean for both groups is different or not. The hypothesis will be the following:
H0: u1 = u2
HA: u1 ? u2
