Hector Diaz (Maria's cousin) has come up with a brillant way to use parts left over from last year's unsuccessful Spiderman Banana Bike to build a new GBI product - the Spiderman Unicycle - which will have part number UNI1001. Hector has built the necessary material master for UNI1001 in SAP and has created and entered the BOM. He has documented an assembly plan for the new product that indicates how existing work centers will be used for the new product. Maria spent two days on the phone calling all retailers and now has 100 confirmed orders. She has entered the orders in SAP. All of the parts necessary to build these 100 are already in inventory. List the SAP steps to complete the master data and build the bikes to satisfy these orders. For each step, include the module and the data needed. Number your steps. You do not need to include steps for fulfilling the orders (so no SD steps) or settling the production costs (so no CO steps).

Use the following set-up for all parts of question 5 (i.e., parts a through e). A monopolist produces its product at a constant average cost and marginal cost of $20 (i.e., AC=MC=20). The market demand for its product is P = 70 – 0.2Q and so its marginal revenue is MR= 70 – 0.4Q where P is the price per unit of the product and Q is the number of units. Suppose that the monopolist must charge the same price...

Over the last few years, brick and mortar retailers have come up with some ingenious ways to gather data about the customers who walk into their stores. We’ve taken a look at many of them in past issues of this newsletter, including one story about “smart” mannequins that observe consumer patterns using cameras in the dummies’ eyes. Although that may skew a bit on the creepy side, it’s important to keep in mind that physical retailers are merely trying to...
