We can consider Myanmar as an example of the developing third world country. The tourism industry is supposed to add value to the economic system of the country by generating revenue. The government can invest the revenue generated to improve the facilities available to the visiting tourists in the country. The country can then promote itself as a tourist destination and try to attract more customers to generate more revenue. Myanmar has a great tourist potential and attractions for the people visiting the country. But the slow economic growth has crippled the tourism industry and the growth has been stunted. The number of people visiting the country is low compared to the other countries in the region for the same reason. The infrastructure is very bad and the support provided to the entrepreneurs who want to start their business in tourism is not good. The lack of tourists has made the hotel industry to lower their prices and they are facing financial crisis as well. Overall, Myanmar is still growing both economically as well as in the tourism industry.
