After ovulation, ___1___
acts on the remaining follicle cells to promote the development of the ___ 2___ ,
which produces estrogen and large amounts of ____3____ ,
which then causes the endometirum to become ____4____
in preparation for ____5____
should fertilization of the ovum occur.
If the ovum is not fertilized the corpus luteum ____ 6____
resulting in a drop of estrogen and progesterone levels.
The endometrium then sloughs off in the ____7____ .
The drop in estrogen and progesterone removes the ____ 8_____
and the GnRH is produced by the _____9____
and the cycle beings again.

1)LH (Luteinizing Hormone )
2)CORPUS LUTEUM
3)PROGASTRIN
4)NUTRITIVE AND RECEPTIVE
5)IMPLANTATION
It is a gonadotrophin hormone released by the anterior pitutary gland in response to the GNRH(Gonadotrophin releasing hormone ) from the hypothalamus.
Luteinizing Hormone is increased during the ovulation phase , it act on the remaining follicle and convert it into corpus luteum. corpus luteum will secrete large amount of Progesterone (progastrin) which make the endometrium ready to implant the zygote.
6)DEGENRATE
7)MENSTRUATION FLOW
8)NEGATIVE FEEDBACK INHIBITION
9)HYPOTHALAMUS
When the ovum released by the ovulation is not fertilised by the sperm with in 1 day, it will result in the degeneration of the corpus luteum. When the corpus luteum degenerate the progesterone supply to the enodmetrium is stopped and this eventually lead to the sloughing of the endometrial layer during the menstrual flow.
There will decrease in the amount of estrogen and progesterone , it removes the negative feedback inhibition and activate the hypothalamus to produce GNRH . GNRH will act on the anterior pitutatry and secrete LH AND FSH(follicle stimulating hormone). it will act on the Ovary and start the next ovulatory cycle.
