Antifungal activity means to test killing ability of any compound [eg - plant extract] against any species of fungus .

In short you can call antimicrobial activity [fungi and bacteria]. there is a proper protocol for this .

1. you have to develop pure culture of fungus.
2. now extract the compound [plant extract] , for whom you have to test the activity.
3. now , prepare a new agar [fungal] culture in a petridish, make a whole in agar culutre in the petridish.[with the help of borer], pour a amount of extract in side that whole,
4. instead of making whole in gel, you can use a filter paper disk [by punching machine], which are wetted by our extract..And keep the small circular wetted disk on culutral gel.
5. keep the petridish for incubation.
6. after 24 hrs you will observe thatin some fortion of gell near the whole, fungal species not able to survie and gell looks clear.
7. but other portion of gell is turbulent due to fungal growth.
