why, how and where project management can fit into the broadly defined area of environment sector. You may focus on specific environmental issues if you so wish. These may include but not be limited to, water quality, air quality, food protection, pollution abatement, remediation technologies, etc

Environmental issues can be dealt easily through proper project management.

For example if you have to improve the quality of water in river to make sure that the aquatic life in the river could come to its normal life then we will have to make a project for the river cleanup which will include thichs such as sewage improvement in order to increase water quality, stop dumping of solid waste into the river etc.

And all these works cannot be done at once and need to be done in a phased manner so that no problem is caused to the people residing over there and quality of water is also improved gradually i.e. a sewage treatment plant cannot be build overnight and for building that we need proper planning and management.

Same way if we have to make improvements in any department such as food standarts , air quality standards etc then we will have to take it up as project and look into things which can be done to improve it and look that when and where it should be done which are all part of project management.
