Innovation as a business strategy has benefited the corporation by rewarding it with high proportion of the industry’s profit stake without an equivalent market share (Bennett, 1996). The corporation has continued to use the differentiation business level strategy to keep themselves separated from other competitors. They have introduced new products that have helped in keeping customers loyalty. They have also ensured the differentiation business level strategy by using the unique functions in their websites that are hard to replicate such as following, trending and tweets (Bennett, 1996). Through innovation, Twitter Company has over the years improved the user interface of their social network platform. They have increased the number functions in the platform such as retreating, following and trending topics. Through constant innovation in defining the advertisement they do and the social networking, the Twitter Corporation has secured the role of industry innovator for its brand and image and has since created a position of strength in the market. Because the company has been constantly redefining the industry in which it operates, they have not seen the need for vast market stake (Bennett, 1996).
The innovation and differentiation of products that has been employed by Twitter Corporation has worked to its favor and outlasted competitors like the Yahoo Corporation, and Myspace Corporation especially the United States of America. Food and beverage industry keeps on changing with new technology and therefore, employing innovation as business strategy is a guarantee that the corporation would live for the future. Differentiated products also create more profit for the company (Bennett, 1996).
There are two types of corporate level strategies. They include; diversification linked and diversification constrained. Corporations that use linked diversification strategy often go into new businesses when it relate to some extent to another industry they are already in, but is not certainly connected to their current business. Corporations that use the linked diversification corporate strategy often have slight consistency to their general corporate strategy, while organizations that use constrained diversification are more focused. Because it allows organizations to optimize the effect of their assets since they are jointly owned (Hillier, Grinblatt, & Titman, 2012). The Twitter Corporation employs the constrained diversification corporate level strategy in its operation. The corporation was an inherently a social networking company that integrated the online advertisement together as function of the company.
