what are the main differences between symbiotic relationships of rhizobium and mycorrhizal association with plan?
Answer-The main differences between symbiotic relationship of rhizobium and mycorrhiza association with a plant is as follows-1)In the symbiotic relationship between the bacterium rhizobium and the tree a root nodule is formed. The bacteria takes nitrogen in the atmosphere and transformes it into ammonia chemically so that the plant can absorbs. In return the plant provides the rhizobium energy in the form of carbohydrate. But in case of mycorrhiza fungi they infects the roots of a plant and release many microscopic fungal threads .The large surface area of the fungus allows it to absorb nutrients and water which are transferred to plant roots. In return the plant provides the mycorrhiza with energy. So rhizobium gives N2 to plants and mycorrhiza gives nutrients to plants.
