The RFID receiver gets the synchronization signal from the mobile robot and the ultrasonic transmitter sends out a short-term signal to be used for measuring the distance from the beacon to the mobile robot.Active sensor is a sensing device that requires an external source of power to operate.Examples of active based technologies include Lidar,radar,infrared to measure distance.

Wheel encoders can be used to obtain precise optical scanning for high measuring accuracy.Wheel type incremental rotary incoder helps for measuring the length or spedd of target moving successively with wheel type structure.Disadvantages of encoder include magnetic or radio interference,direct light source interference, and these encoders are susceptible to dirt, oil and dust contaminates.
