Does an atom of an element ever change into an atom of another element? How so?

Solutions

Expert Solution

Yes it can.

Basically atom of one element to change into atom of another element, atomic number must change.

That is number of ptoton must change. Proton is present in nucleus of the atom. So, this can change by radiactive decay which may be alpha decay
