There is an urgent need to conserve biodiversity because it provides us various benefit and services and also derive the processes that sustains the global economy and is also very important for the survival of the species.

The following are the benefits which is provided by our biodiversity signifying its importance.

(a) It regulates the maintenance of ecosystems and sustainable regulation such as maintenance of compositions of gases in atmosphere, pollination with the help of insects and birds, soil formation, climate regulation and nutrient recycling.

(b) It provides the source of economically important products such as therapeutic property containing like quinine (in treatment of malaria), morphine(analgesic) and Taxol (anti-cancer drug) therefore we can see clearly that a wide range of industrial material are derived from biological resources.

(c) It has a very deep aesthetic and cultural benefits. Aesthetic aspects includes bird watching, wildlife and gardening also the beauty of the nature is highly endorsed by the people. The cultural and spiritual meaning is associated with the landscape and its endemic environment

(d) It also helps in prevention and mitigation of natural disasters such as, the forest protects landscapes against soil erosion, landslides, also protect the boundary of river during flood and etc.
