1. A. Identify the cells that display MHCI and MHC II proteins on their surface
B. How are MHCI and MHCII similar?
C. How are MHCI and MHCII different?
2. What type of testing is used to detect COVID-19? Include molecular and serological testing, principles, what the difference is between molecular and serological tests (such as what is being detected, etc..), as well the types of specimens required.
1)
all cells that contains nucleus display MHC I on their surface. and the cells including Macrophages, dendritic cells, CD4 T cells and B cells contain both MHC II and MHC I.
(a) similarity in both is that they both present antigens on them
(b) difference : MHC I present self antigen and MHC II present non-self antigen
2)
real time reverse transcriptase PCR method is used to detect COVID-19. The specific gene of COVID-19 is being detected.
As COVID-19 is RNA virus, reverse transcriptase PCR is used. After addition of specific primers for a specific gene of COVID-19, there would be amplification of that gene in PCR which suggest the test positive.
