Put the following steps of neurotransmitter signaling in order from first (1) to last (6). The first one is shown number in order 1-5 for the rest
1. Action potential reaches the synaptic terminal Vessicles full of neurotransmitter fuse with the plasma membrane.
Neurotransmitter is released into the synaptic cleft
Neurotransmitters bind to receptors on the dendrite of the receiving neuron.
Ion channels on the dendrites of the receiving neuron open and inhibit or trigger an action potential.
Neurotransmitters are broken down or recycled.

The synapse is defined as the junction between 2 neurons.Generally synapses are of 2 types Chemical synapse and electrical synapse. This is the mechanism by which a neural signal is passed through the chemical synapse. The action potential on reaching the synaptic terminal triggers the release of synaptic vesicles that contain the neurotransmitters. The neurotransmitters that are releaed binds with the receptors of the dendrite of the recieving neuron. The ion channels open and accordingly an action potential is formed. The neurotransmitters that are present are then broken down and recycled.
