What would happen if the spindle fibers did not form during mitosis?
Answer =
if the spindle fibers did not form during mitosis the following things would occure:
The spindle fibers moves the chromosomes during the mitosis that is during the process of cell division.
if spindle fibers are not form then there is no movement of chromosomes occure during the mitosis.
there are different stages of mitosis and if spindle fibers are not formed , have the different effects like :
Prophase - sister chromatids would not attach to Spindle fibers.
Metaphase - spindle fibers held the chromosome at the metaphase plate during metaphase. if spindle fibers are not formed then chromosomes are not held at metaphase plate.
Anaphase - during anaphase sister chromatids are not pulled towards the spindle poles because there is no formation of spindle fibers.
In this way ,if spindle fibers are not formed then there is no uniformly separation or division of chromosomes at respected daughter cell takes place.
