Expert Solution

Answer:-

The male hormone system is cyclic and the female hormone system is cyclic.

Explanation:-

Endocrine system is a collection of glands (like pitutatry, pineal gland, pancreas, ovaries, testes, thyroid gland, parathyroid gland, and adrenal gland ) these glands produce hormones that regulate various metabolic activities , growth, development, reproduction, sexual function etc.in body.

There is a male hormonal system and a female hormonal system controlling their respective functions in male and female .Male hormonal system includes hormones which are chemicals that regulate the activity of cells or organs of male reproductive system.

The primary hormones of male reproductive system are follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), luteinizing hormone (LH) and testosterone. FSH and LH are produced by the pituitary gland present at the base of the brain. FSH is necessery for sperm production (spermatogenesis), and LH stimulates the production of testosterone, required to continue spermatogenesis or sperm production. Testosterone is also important for the development of male characteres, like muscle mass and strength, fat distribution, bone mass and sex drive.

Like women, men do have a hormonal cycle, though it is not monthly rather it occurs daily or 24 hrs basis. In 24 hrs. the testoserone level keeps changing, it is highest in morning, high testosterone makes the person more energetic, talkative, aggressive, focused, competitive, independent, impulsive and confident. In peak testosterone hours, men may get angry quickly. In afternoon testosterone is in middle of it's cycle , in this time though he is alert and energetic but prefer to work in a grou rather than single. In evening the testosterone level is lowest and the person feels tired .

Female hormonal system:-

Females have four major hormones controlling their reproductive system, they are Gonadotropin hormones, Follicle-stimulating hormone, luteinizing hormone, estrogen, and progesterone.

Gonadotropin hormones produced by hypothalamus, releases FSH and LH from pitutary gland, it also stimulates ovary and helps in reproduction. (FSH) produced by the pituitary gland in the first half of the menstrual cycle, it stimulates development of the maturing ovarian follicle and controls ovum production in the female.

LH stimulates the ovaries to produce oestrogen and progesterone. It triggers ovulation ( the release of a mature ovum from the ovary), and it alos promotes development of the corpus luteum.

Oestrogen is produced by ovaries, It promotes maturation and release of ovum in each menstrual cycle. It is also produced by the placenta during pregnancy.

Progesterone is produced by the corpus luteum in the ovary; it prepares the endometrium (lining of the uterus) to receive and helps the development of the fertilised ovum. It also suppresses the production of oestrogen once ovulation is over.

Females have a monthly hormonal cycle starting from first day of period till the day before of next period have four weeks time, normally 28 days .

During 1 st week estrogen level is low , it gradually rises, as the lebel rises the person becomes energetic, optimistic, in good mood, in week 2 also estrogen and testosterone keeps rising, In 3rd week Progesterone level is high, Estrogen and testosterone level decreases, towards the end of week again testosterone increases, progesterone is a sedating hormone, so person becomes less active, PMS or premenustral symptom starts in this week, in 4th week estrogen lebel drops , person fees sad as it is a mood booster hormone, progesterone lebel also decreases in this week.

Each cycle in female is divided into three phases based on the events occuring in the ovary (ovarian cycle) or in the uterus ( that is uterine cycle). The ovarian cycle is divided into i) follicular phase, ii) ovulation, and iii) luteal phase. And the uterine cycle is divided into i)menstruation,ii) proliferative phase, and iii) secretory phase.

the Follicular phase of ovarian cycle tales place in 1-14days, ovulation usually takes place on 14th day of the cycle, Leutal phase takes place in 15-28 days.

The menustral phase of uterian cycle takes place in 1-5days, the proliferative phase takes place in 6-14days, and the secretory phase takes place in 15-28 days.

The female sex hormones, oestrogen and progesterone, helps in the development of secondary sexual characteristics (development of breasts , development of armpit hairs etc.)in the female.

so both the male and female hormonal system are cyclic.
