1I - Part 8 What is the external organ that surrounds the urethra?

Solutions

Expert Solution

1. Sperms are produced in seminiferous tubules in testes

2. Spermatogenesis is the process in which haploid spermatozoa developes from germ cells.

3. Testis are situated outside the body cavity as temperature of testis in lower than core body temperature, that is important for normal development of sperm, because excessive heat destroys the sperm

4. Epididymis is a long, coiled tube that rests on the backside of each testicle. It stores and transport the sperms to the vas deferens after sexual arousal.

5.spermatic cord

When ejaculation occurs, sperm is forcefully expelled from the tail of the epididymis into the Vas deferens duct. Sperm then travels through the deferent duct through up the spermatic cord into the pelvic cavity, over the ureter to the prostate behind the bladder

6. Seminal vesicle situated between bladder and rectum.

Duct from seminal vesicle joins the vas deferens to form ejaculatory duct. Seminal vesicles secretes alkaline and fructose containing fluid which mixes with sperms to form semen

7. Bulbospingious muscle of superficial muscle of perineum helps to project sperms out from urethra during ejaculation.

8. Male genital organ surrounds the urethra in male
