Assess how well or poorly Hooters’ has handled the issue of workplace sexual harassment. Has it taken appropriate measures to prevent sexual harassment? What if anything can it do to prevent future allegations and lawsuits?

Hooter’s Business Concept:

Thirty years ago, Hooters of America had advanced a successful chain restaurant concept which combined “good food, cold beer and pretty girls.” This restaurant chain is launched in US market and Hooter has achieved great success in the business idea. The business is based on the planned strategy and they want achieve the great success in food business and beer business along with promotional initiatives.

Since the Hooter’s business has a concept of pretty girls in the work place, there are possibilities for the female harassments in the workplace, as people are drinking in the workplace and may do harassments with girl employees in the Hooter’s work place.

More than 60 girl employees field lawsuit against the Hooter business for sexual harassments. This was a big issue for the Hooter business and Hooter needs to plan a strategy to meet the sexual harassment issues at work place.

Hooter developed a strategy that Hooter working girls have to sign a sexual innuendo consent form to work in Hooter organization. Thus prevents the Hooter from lawsuit of sexual harassments.

Assessment: Hooter has very poorly handled the issue of workplace sexual harassment. The approach Hooter has adopted is not ethical and it does not prevent the sexual harassment in the workplace, but it enables the sexual harassment at the work place and girl employees are not able to lawsuit against such cases, because they had to sign a consent form and they need to accept for the sexual harassment if they want to work in Hooter restaurant work place.

No it has not taken appropriate measures to prevent sexual harassment. The signing of a consent form by girl employees is not ethical approach and it is unethical approach which will increase sexual harassment in the restaurant work place.

This approach of Hooter will help him to prevent future allegations and lawsuits for the Hooter restaurant organization, but this is not ethical approach. The Hooter needs to have ethical approach and needs to avoid sexual harassment at work place.
