Right to privacy is the element of different legal traditions to
restrict government as well as private actions that violate the
privacy of individuals. The factors evolving with changing time
like technology is the biggest reason of violation of an
individual’s privacy level. Social media is one of the biggest
trending problem for lack of privacy in the society. Technology
companies, like Apple, Amazon, Google, Facebook, etc., provide such
a platform for people which not only is used for recreational
purposes but also highly affects the privacy level of any
individual to a certain level.
Instagram and Facebook are such social media platforms where the
youth is highly active with their day to day updates. The
technology companies use and collect personal data and work on it.
The messaging applications assure that the texts and data is highly
encrypted, but the creator and controller of the software has an
easy access to all the data. Increasing access to technology and
internet is useful and meaningful in a particular way. Individuals
themselves have easily served their daily lives at social media
platforms and provided easy access to others for
intervention.
In a certain way we can say that in desire of anything else, or
more precious people risk their individuality and privacy. But to a
limited extent, this reason can be applied to a certain group of
people who are willing to risk their privacy but not for all.
Government decisions are more from economical point of view and not
for violation of individuals privacy. Any decision taken by the
government may or may not affect the lives and life styles of
certain classes of individuals but it doesn’t intrude the personal
space of the individual to a level that the privacy of the people
gets harmed.
