Write an essay of 1500 words, giving credible references on "How electricity and magnetism will change our future transportation." Remember to follow the APA style and provide at least five references.
If we say that our future transportation will be powered by electricity and magnetism, then we will not be wrong. For example - Fully electric cars are the future of ground transportation. The use of electricity in cars will also have a massive impact on future transportation. How can we forget about the tesla which inspite of running on electricity has top of the class speed and pickup. Talking about trains, Electric trains are more efficient, cheaper to run, and they can accelerate much faster than the conventional onnes. We have heard of MagLev trains. These are the fastest trains working on the principal of Magnetic Levitation (MagLev) where they are suspended in air with the help of strong electromagnets. Also built into the guide rails are more coils that become electromagnets as those superconducting magnets aboard the train pass through. This creates a second push-and-pull force that lifts the train a few inches off the ground. Therefore, maglev trains are greener, faster, quieter, and deliver smoother rides
The famous hyperloop has got all the attention in the world because of its future prospects. This vac-train works by combining the electricity and magnetism. The train is moving inside a closed tube and is suspended in air above the tracks. The closed tube has vacuum which greatly reduces drag forces. High-speed electric trains today are extremely fast, but they are mostly used in Europe and other places, like Japan.
Recently, we saw a solar powered airplane touring around the world. This plane was totally powered by solar power. Although, electricity powered aircrafts have become common but maintaining them requires a great knowledge The National Research Council (NRC) of Canada has developed a relatively cheap, efficient, and non-polluting technology to convert the energy of ocean currents into electricity. Everyone is trying for methods of transportations that are cheap and require low maintenance.
It is believed that by 2050 only 10 per cent of new-build cars will be powered by petrol alone. “Transportation will become a lot more electrified,Current lithium-ion batteries have made huge advances but the batteries of the future might go even further with so-called metal-air batteries offering potentially ten times the range of current devices. Exciting advances in materials technology could also play a part with the new “super material” graphene offering possibilities of longer range batteries that recharge within seconds rather than minutes.
