1) what happens during the interphase of the cell cycle?
Interphase is the phase of a cell cycle in which a typical cell spends most of its life.
during this phase ,cellular organelles double in number ,the DNA replicates and protein synthesis occurs.
The chromosomes are not visible and the DNA appears as uncoiled chromatin.
2) why can't you see the chromosome during interphase of the cell cycle because
during interphase dNA is not condensed into chromosomes because the cell is using the DNA to code for proteins. It is once the cell begins to divide that that the DNA condenses into chromosomes.
Interphase has 3 phases,G1,S and G2 during which time the genetic material is replicated and finally condenses into distinct chromosomes ,basically interphase is when cell does everything necessary to divide -except the process of cell division.
In the early stage of interphase the chromosomes are not visible because they have not yet condensed into segregated units.
