There is behavioral therapy for treating and preventing disorders in homelessness in heroin addicts. Medicines reduce the ill effects of drugs and chances of offending decreases. Drug courts have used medicine therapy which reduces the intake of the drugs by the patients. Patients involved in prison based and community based therapy has seven times less chance of getting prone to heroin addiction as compared to the people who did not observe these traits. Statistical study revealed that patients receiving methadone therapy have less chance of getting prone to intake of heroin drugs. The cost of medicines in high in USA around 4000$ dollars per month which makes the treatment difficult to achieve along with the scientific research. There are correctional institutions for treating the heroin and drug addict patients in various cities in USA. Neuroimaging of brain regions helps in the analysis of regions of brain which get affected due to heroin intake as compared to the brain of control normal people in life. The sensitivity of reward and motivational centers in the brain get affected after intake of drugs. The medicines used for treatment have been approved by the justice system in USA.
