Describe the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator personality framework. Based on the framework, what would you think is a good personality type? Why?

Solutions

Expert Solution

Myers Briggs Type Indicator personality framework is an introspective questionnaire, which helps in assessing the main traits of an individual’s personality. The respondent needs to answer 100 questions about the way he responds in a particular situation.

Based on the above responses, the respondent is classified into following major categories:

  • E or I – extroverted or introverted
  • S or N – sensing or intuitive
  • P or J – perceiving or judging
  • T or F – thinking or feeling

A permutation-combination of above categories results in the final 16 personality types:

  • ISTJ – Inspector
  • INFJ – Counselor
  • ENFJ – Giver
  • INTJ – Mastermind
  • ESFJ – Provider
  • ISTP – Craftsman
  • ESFP – Performer
  • INFP – Idealist
  • ESTP – Doer
  • ENFP – Champion
  • ENTJ – Commander
  • ESTJ – Supervisor
  • ISFJ – Nurturer
  • INTP – Thinker
  • ISFP – Composer
  • ENTP – Visionary

In my views, a ENTP, ISTP, ENFP are good personality types as they are able to analyze situations and come up with viable solutions, which helps in their progression in life.
