The prevalnce in the cancer patients have increase for the last many decades especially in the developed countries The main cause for this can be the present situation of the pollution and the life style (food habits, alchohols smoking late hours of working etc.). Most of the individuals do diet high in red and processed meats or food have contributed to the rise in cancer cases due to overweight and obese, apart from this excessive alcohol intake and smoking in tthe young and pregnancy stage also raises the risk of developing a number of cancers. And culture the of sunbathing is also contributing to rising rates of melanoma skin cancer. As per the latest research cancer risk  is rising is because of our increasing due to longevity. most os of the cancer cases are being detected in age above 60 as over the period of time the genes encoding the cancer do accumulate  in the human body. the genes thus get expresed in the individuals in the foem of disease.
