Technology has accomplished many advances in health care in the last decade. Many challenges have been overcome, and many challenges will be faced in the future. We are a world revolving at high speeds of technology. For example Electronic health records has assisted with integration of care and decreases of medication errors.
In your view, what are the positive and/ or negative aspects of integrating technology in long term care. While discussing also think whether the technological improvements would meet the demands of the future? If so how?
health technology development in the recent years not only fastened the services provided and also improved the patient comfort and quality of the health services, including the long-term healthcare setting.
For example, saving the data in the form of digital files allows to save the huge amount of data and also to track the data immediately whenever necessary without delay, which is very advantageous in case of emergency conditions.
Despite these advantages, some of the disadvantages like identity theft, unauthorized access to the patient information, etc. are also possible. But we cannot oppose the process of health technology development due to their advantages, but more safety measures to avoid the misuse must be developed simultaneously.
Technology advances are expected to meet the future demands of healthcare as they require less manpower, but completes more work. In the coming years, the demand for long-term care is going to increase as the number of elderly individuals are increasing. So, to meet the future demands, including the technology in the healthcare is a must.
