2.How will adding an alpha-1 blocker to the heart effect heart rate and contraction and state the physiological reasoning behind this.
3. How will cooling the heart down effect heart rate and contraction and state the physiological reasoning behind this.
4. How will adding epinephrine agonist to the heart effect heart rate and contraction and state the physiological reasoning behind this.
1) Adding warm water to heart will result in increased heart rate and contraction . This occur because vasodilation occur when the warm water is given and it will cause increase blood supply to the integumentary system. When the temperature goes high vasodilation occur resulting in drop of BP. Heart increase its rate and contraction to cope up with reducing blood pressure.
2) Alpha 1 adrenoreceptor blocker will block the adrenoreceptor activation and decrease the heart rate . The reason is the lowering of receptors for adrenergic hormone to bind. Indirectly parasympathetic inhibition will also take place which cause decrease in heart rate
3) cooling the heart down will result in vasoconstriction of integumentary vessels there by increasing the blood pressure. This will cause the heart rate to decrease to compensate for the increasing vasoconstriction of blood vessel .
4) Epinephrine will cause adrenergic receptors agonism and will result in the increase in heart rate and blood pressure . This is also used as a medication in emergency situation.
