Match the following descriptions with the appropriate form of learning.
1. You move into a house near a train track. At first, you notice trains going by at regular intervals. A few months later a visiting friend asks how often trains pass by. You realize you cannot give an accurate answer because you no longer notice the noise from the trains. (Click to select) Classical Conditioning Operant Conditioning Habituation
2. You eat some strawberries when you are sick with the flu and subsequently experience vomiting. The smell of strawberries comes to be associated with the illness and you feel sick every time you smell strawberries, even though the strawberries aren’t what made you sick. 3. A child is given a small treat when he cleans his room. After receiving the same cleaning reward three times, he comes to expect a treat every time he cleans his room. (Click to select) Operant Conditioning Habituation Classical Conditioning
4. When you were young you were listening to a Beatles’ song when your mother came in and told you that your grandfather had passed away. To this day, hearing that Beatles’ song makes you sad. (Click to select) Operant Conditioning Habituation Classical Conditioning
5. A young hawk captures a bright yellow snake, but instead of
its resulting in an enjoyable meal, the snake induces heavy
vomiting by the hawk. Two weeks later, the same bird catches
another bright yellow snake and again vomits. The next time the
young bird is foraging and sees a bright yellow snake, it quickly
flies away. (Click to select) Operant

Conditioning
Ans-1)habituation
Explaination: Habituation refers to a decrease in an individual's response to stimuli after the stimuli are repeated. In other words, a sensation is ignored after a while.
When I moves into a new house by some train tracks, I will find that the sound of the trains keeps me awake at night. After a while, I become desensitized to the noise and are able to ignore it.
Ans-2)classical conditioning
Explaination:Classical conditioning is a form of learning that deals with acquiring new information or behavior via the process of association.
when I eat some strawberries when I am sick with the flu and subsequently experience vomiting. The smell of strawberries comes to be associated with the illness and I feel sick every time l smell strawberries, even though the strawberries aren’t what made me sick. This happens because of association of strawberry smell with vomiting. That's why this is the case of Classical conditioning
Ans-3)operant conditioning
Explaination:Positive reinforcement is an additional stimulus that encourages certain behavior. This is a type of operant conditioning.
For eg.parents use positive reinforcement when they award child for completing their cleaning chores with a reward. Theb child starts associating cleaning his room with reward , and as a result, they complete their chores more reliably and enthusiastically in the hopes of earning more reward.
Ans-4)classical conditioning
Explaination : this is an example of behaviour response in classical conditioning where child associated the beatle song with death of grandfather.
Ans-5)classical conditioning
Explaination: this is a fear behaviour response due to classical conditional where hawk first time try to eat yellow snake he experience vomit same thing repeated next time so with every repeatation bat associated vomiting with yellow snake and results in a fear response on seeing yellow snake.
