As a result of virus and its effect to various groups (high income vs low income population) in the context of food security, how would you conduct a survey to test the underlying idea of differential effects across income groups (high earners vs low earners). You can use the following terms to answer the question througugly. Data production, Causal effects, Statistical inference, Randomness Statistical data, The law of large values, Central limit theorem, Confidence interval, Hypothesis testing p-value.

Expert Solution

Differential effects are evaluated on the basis of interaction terms. It assess whether the effects of one variable on another are moderated by a third variable. Emperical reserach using interactio terms often lag the theoretical development. So, traditional survey will fail to work. Here, it will be better, if we conduct cross sectional survey. But the problem will be that it will give less data compared with traditional survey. So after getting the data, Monte Carlo simulation can be used to take care the above mentioned issues. Generally, Regression or mixture of regression can be use to tackle the differential effects. Where all the concepts like confidence interval, hypothesis testing all carry usual meaning.

In the monocentric city model, suppose there are two income groups (high vs. low). Both groups pay the same transport costs for commuting to the central business district, and transport costs are entirely monetary. One group has a lower income than the other group. Use a diagram to explain the locations of different groups in the city in equilibrium. 1.1 Draw two different bid rent (housing price) curves for land for the different income groups. Why do they differ? 1.2...

Distinguish between a low and high income and a low and high economic growth rate. What are the key features of an economy that are present when incomes are high or fast growing and absent when incomes are low and stagnating or growing slowly? Provide an example of an economy with a low income and slow growth rate, a low income and rapid growth rate, and a high income with sustained growth over many decades.

Low and high levels of insulin doses are given to two groups of diabetic rats to check the insulin binding capacity, yielding the following data. Assuming both variances are equal, give a 95% confidence interval for the difference of the true average insulin-binding capacity between two samples. Low Insulin level: sample size = 8; mean=1.98; std., deviation = .51 High insulin level:sample size = 13; mean=1.30; std., deviation = .35

Question: Explain whether the technique errors will result in high or low experimental determination of the molar concentration of CH3COOH in vinegar. 1. A student uses the pipet bulb to blow the last bit of vinegar sample from the tip into the titration flask, after the pipet is drained. 2. At the extreme limits (high and low end) of the plot of pH vs. log([HPO42-]/[H2PO4-]), the data points may appear as though they are leveling off. Think about the [HPO42-]/[H2PO4-] ratio at the extreme limits and explain why this leveling off occurs. (There is one other answer on Chegg but I do not understand the logic of that response) Thank you!
