However ,The principles of triage is based on the simple triage and Rapid treatment, which is also called START this is based on its use in medicine. It was developed to allow the first responders to multiple victims in 30 second or less based on the three primary observation which are respiration perfusion and mental status. This is a process for sorting of injured people into groups based on the need or likely benefit from the immediate medical treatment which they required. It is used in hospital emergency rooms when Limited medical resources must be allocated to the patients. The principles are-
1. Respiration- this is the the act of breathing which is the basic necessity for an individual and this determines that if the person is dead or alive. If the person is alive he can be moved on for further treatment.
2. Perfusion- this is the passage of fluid through the blood vessels to the particular organ or tissue. If a person is is totally physical fit then the blood will be flowing through all his blood vessels which will determine his well being.
3. Mental status- mental status refers to the mental well being of the individual. If the person is mentally stable and he can respond to the doctors called and understand what he is saying he is said to be mentally fit and stable.
