Media: sheep blood agar. This non selective media is used for primary isolation.
Atmosphere: 10% oxygen and 20% carbon dioxide
Temperature: 35 - 37 oC

catalase positive (with catalase negative sample as a control).
Oxidase negative
Indole-negative. (Tryptophan broth)
Urea is not hydrolyzed (Urea medium, Urease Test)
