He has one keg containing 200 litres of beer with 5% alcohol, but the students are drinking at a rate of 50 litres per hour. To try and prolong his supply he turns on the water tap and leaves it running, adding water to the keg at a rate of 25 litres per hour. Leaving aside the moral and aesthetic issues involved in this scenario, find an equation for the percentage of alcohol as a function of time in the diluted beer he is serving. What will be the concentration when the bar closes at 3 a.m.? (Assume the students continue to drink at the same rate until the bar closes.)
