this is a systematic process which provides specific approach to make proper and suitable decisions to any kind of situations. In general decision making is the process of choosing one alternative among all, by establishing relation with all others and listing the pros and cons of each decision.

this model consists of 8 elements, as follows:

  1. problem: the first step in this is identify and define what is the problem is. once we are able to define it, the first step is over. for this we must scan the environment completely and understand it.
  2. Objectives: next you need to define your objectives and what are your expected outcomes by the action. these will be the outcomes if you resolve the problems. these objectives help us to collect relevant and suitable information for further.
  3. Alternatives: sit and list all the imaginative alternatives to fulfill the above criteria. all these helps us to list all the available alternatives and select one which fits you.
  4. Consquences: we should know the kind of issues and problems with our actions and we are totally responsible for these actions. you should able to compare each and should ready to face those.
  5. Trade-off: choosing one best alternatives may leads to leave others, you need to be justified with your selected alternative, whether you got the expected results or not. if not, what and where was the problem etc.
  6. uncertainity: most of the busienss decisions were taken in uncertain conditions only. it may be difficult to define how we face problem and what were the outcomes. but we must ready ready to face the uncertainty and resolve the issues.
  7. risk tolerance: it is the process of listing all the posibilities and chances to happen of your estimated outcome.
  8. linked decisions: the decisions you made yesterday may leads to take some decisions on today and tomorrow also. hence, the decsions of today may influnces the decisions of tomorrow. you must aware of it, and be prepare for this. do not think that your decision is over today and it wont appears on tomorrow. this decision may cause to many other relevant factors and you must ready to face them.

this is most updated model than general/traditional decision models. this helps people to understand the issues more precisely and specifically. once, they specifically known what their problems and what they are looking for, it is easy to come out from them.
