List two targets that are phosphorylated by the cdk1/cycA/cycB
complex, and explain how those targets would help the cell move
from G2 to M phase.
1. Roughex (Rux) is a cell-cycle regulator that contributes to the establishment and maintenance of the G1 state in the fruit fly Drosophila. Genetic data show that phosphorylated Rux inhibits the S-phase function of the cyclin A (CycA)–cyclin-dependent kinase 1 (Cdk1) complex; in addition, it can prevent the mitotic functions of CycA and CycB when overexpressed.
2.Cyclin A/cdk1 phosphorylates Bora to promote Aurora A-dependent Plk1 phosphorylation and activation and mitotic entry. Bora phosphorylation by cyclin A/cdk1 is both necessary and sufficient for mitotic commitment. site in Bora whose phosphorylation by cyclin A/cdk1 is required for mitotic entry.
