List the types of between subjects designs and how you would analyze those designs statistically (chapter 7).
The types of between subject designs is when a psychologist wants to look at two or more groups to see which gives the best result .There is a treatment group and a control group which recieves no variable treatment and is used as a reference. For example if we were to test levels of anxiety in children before examinations we have two groups ,one group who are appearing in a day or two for examinations and the other group who have seven days left before they appear for an examination. The advantages is that large groups can be used.multiple levels of variables can be tested simultaneously. This helps to save time for the researchers. The other disadvantage is large groups are required to get collect data. The study of design is important for an analsys. In terms of selecting a statistical test ,the hypothesis should be present.researchers using this desigh often use graph analsys. The requirements of a single subject design are baseline, intervention and reversal. The partcipant in one condition may affect the perfomance in other conditions creating a vast measurable variable that varies with a independant variable.
