1. Reflect on your own experience in groups with groupthink. Describe the situation in which you encountered groupthink, the symptoms that were present, and the outcome. What remedies for groupthink would you prescribe? Summarize your answers in memo form.

Be sure you your example is from a personal experience rather than just reiterating what the textbook says about groupthink.

2. Think of a person whom you think is a particularly good member of a team. What makes him or her so? Think of someone who is a problematic team member. What makes this person a problem?

Make sure you identify the criteria used to decide whether a person is a good team member or a problematic team member.

Topic 1 :

Situation: Govt has instructed a school to make science excursion on the top 20 students of Class IX of the school. Places of visits for excursion was given and school has to choose one from the list. Principal of the school calls a meeting and selected 4 teachers who will conduct the entire programme.

Myself, being a team member first of all read the guidelines and noticed that funds allocated are tough to conduct the tour exclusively. All the teachers were interested in the visit spot where more science shows was there but I noticed its tough to get there in this fund because we can not hire a bus or vechile privately , we have to travel in public conveyance thus I choose and suggest another place of almost same distance where there is no rush and we can travel by trains comfortably. While other teachers are not showing interests in my suggested place , I ask them who will be held responsibile if students met with an accident. So we need to be safe also and the entire decision got changed and we visited at my selected place successfully.
