Find the median of this  received calls data distribution?

No. of calls:  0,      1,      2,      3,      4,     5,     6,     7,    Total

Frequency: 14,    21,    25,    43,    51    40    39    12    245

Solutions

Expert Solution

Solution:

Given frequency distribution of calls received:

 No. of calls, xi:  0,      1,      2,      3,      4,      5,      6,     7,   Total

Frequency, fi: 14,    21,    25,    43,    51,     40,    39,  12,    245

Calculate cumulative frequencies:

                c . f :  14,    35,    60,   103,  154, 194, 233, 245.

N = 245; So, N/2 = 245/2 = 122.5

This N/2 corresponds to x = 4 (c.f = 154), so median is 4.

Thus, the median of this received calls frequency distribution is 4.

Median of the frequency distribution of received calls is 4.
