Best Self Portrait

Choose 4 of these prompts to answer in 1-2 paragraphs each, remembering to reference at least 8 specific concepts from the major course topics (in bold + parentheses; e.g., “indeed, autonomy is important according to the job characteristics model; Week 7, Motivation”).

?     How consistent are your strengths across relationships, contexts, and time?

?     What situations, circumstances, or contexts bring out your best? Why?

?     Who facilitates you being at your best? Why?

?     What keeps you from operating at your best more of the time?

?     What career or life implications does this feedback hold?

Vision Statement

Write a letter to your future self integrating lessons learned from the course as well as the Reflected Best Self Portrait. Your letter should be 1-2 pages long (single-spaced or double-spaced), reference concepts from MGMT 605, and address all of the following prompts:

?     How do you intend to follow-up or capitalize on this feedback?

the important thing to be followed on this feedback is to be aware about the work im involving myself into. It is the weakness of me that sometimes i get into a discussion which is not required at all and it results in loss of the customer. It also seems from the feedback that i procrastinate things because of achieving the perfection in it. If the time is not met, the delivery of the good results will be of no use at all.

?     What behavioral changes can you implement in your management career, based on lessons learned from the course as well as this project?

I need to improve more on time management and stress management because the stress of making things perfect, affects the timely delivery of the task. I also need to focus on the communication and not to be so involved in the discussion with the customers. It is not always necessary to convince the customer for what i think. No need to be stubborn about the views and need to let it go so that it does not affect the relation with the customers.

?     Are there certain contexts you can shape or put yourself into to maximize your potential?

There are not much thing to focus on for the potential maximization, as the only focus i need to be on the degree of involvement onto the work. That will automatically improve the time management, stress management, performance improvement, communication barriers and self control in the situation of argument with the other person.

?     What obstacles do you expect to face and how can you overcome them?

The only obstacle here is to stress to much on the work to prove the worth. By focusing on the importance of the work that needs to be done, the stress can be managed easily and the time can be managed as well. I tend to stress to prove myself as a perfectionist which sometimes involves me in so much work that i could not maintain a work life balance. i also get stuck in arguments to prove my point for the work i do. i also forget deadlines to be met, just to make the work perfect and while doing so i also forget that it would be of no importance if not done on time. i become stubborn about my viewpoints. So just by relaxing and analyzing the stress of my thoughts, i can improvise a lot and overcome my weakness.

I find Hamza to be outgoing and energetic. He’s very good with improving his family business and dealing with his customers on a daily basis. He always challenges himself on tasks of his family business. With his knowledge, he has grown the business dramatically. I find hamza sometimes procrastinate and worry more about the bigger problem then solving what needs to be done. Which affects his workplace, he needs to start being more committed to getting work done on time.

Mejdi - old friend

Hello,

For the time I know I can say that Hamza is a quiet person who has goals that want to achieve in the future. Some strengths I find in hamza is having a strong personality, easy to make conversation with others, and confident to share his opinions with others. Some of his weaknesses are a focus on a small detail, does not like the pressure, and work too much. They’re some of his strengths and weaknesses in my opinions.

Hazem - neighbor

To Whom It May Concern

I have known Hamza Alawdi for more than ten years, and all those years I have observed him to be a fine gentleman with a vast array of qualities, which he processes. I have personally found him to have a vast variety of qualities, such as keeping his commitments and delivering on his promises. Hamza has always stood by his words and extended himself to the extent where he would seem to have over delivered.

On the other side of his qualities, I find Hamza to have overpromised himself with sometimes his punctuality compromised just a tad bit. I know Hamza has always come to his fulfillment to his promises, but having been too overburdened, I think he would be better served by not overpromising.

4

Obadah - friend

Hamza has always been the person I look up too for advice and how to solve problems life hits me with. I find Hamza to be self-discipline, persuasive and initiative when comes to work. He tends to know everything and sort out problems and issues at work. One of the strengths I noticed is that he's really good at convincing customers and negotiating a deal in selling anything. The weakness he faces at work is not being able to limit is the conversation and being clear on what to say. He loves to talk too much with customers, which often leads to customers not coming back.

5

Timothy- uncle

Hamza Alawdi brings great memories to my family and me. He's one of the nice innocent human beings I've ever met. I have known Hamza from the day he was born. He was raised with my kids and they all got along very well. The strength I find in hamza my kids doesn’t have are self-reliant and self-discipline. Hamza tends to be less distracted and does not procrastinate. His motivation and advice on helping others were very helpful for my kids. I also find hamza very energetic and works hard and all that leads to success. The only weakness I find in him is public speaking. For the most part, he's easy going and open to having new friends.

6

Eyad - schoolmate

The strength I see in hamza Alawdi is patients. Having patients takes so much effort and time to build. I don’t find people having the patent for anything but Hamza is really good at it and I feel that came from the customer service has deals with at work. Hamza is also good at teamwork. He works effectively in a team, contribute to team objectives and communicate effectively with team members. The weakness hamza has is expressive he comes on too strong and lacks when to stop speaking.

7

Alex - supervisor

Throughout my interactions with Hamza, I found much strength in his ability in adapting to change. The educational path he was on is not what he originally had in mind, however he took various courses until he began to understand what it was that enticed his interests. Along the way, It appears he has gained valuable insight into what it takes to understand his self better, and that is trying new things and adapting to the changes that come along with the venture he chose for his self. From computer skills to languages, I was side by side with Hamza and noted his quick ability to explore and adapt to new challenges, which is definitely one of his more notable strengths. Moreover, I believe managing his family business has given him strength to believe in his abilities as a manager and potential business owner. To manage a successful business, one must utilize honesty, creativity, patience, respectfulness, dedication, enthusiasm and versatility, all of which I believe Hamza has improved upon during his tenure as a business manager.

On the other hand, Hamza can sometimes get too involved in managing his business affairs that he might forget to eat, sleep or even respond to important messages. He can get somewhat distracted by the smaller details and worry about perfecting them before addressing more concerning issues. This is probably his more noteworthy weakness, however I know he is utilizing his efforts in order to improving on his multitasking skills and prioritizing tasks in order to alleviate his self from some of his weaknesses.

Amany - employee

Hamza is very dedicated and knows what he wants in the future. He has a very strong knowledge and skills in running any business. I have worked with hamza for many years. Hamza helped me fix my business when I was failing and going to dept. when he came to my business he immediately knew what was wrong when he seen the financial sheet and helped me be very successful. Without his knowledge and network I don’t think I would of still been in business. Hamza is very different on how he works and does things. I noticed hamza weakness was clarity and organization on what he wants done. I also noticed he’s very strict and only wants his way of doing things. He’s very honest and does beyond his way to help, sometimes people take advantage that he’s not aware of.

First question chosen

How consistent are your strengths across relationships ; context and time ??

Well. Every employee of any organisation has specific strengths over the other. Mere recognition of very most existence of those strengths in them is what let them in the place they are today.

Now , when recognition part is completed there starts the proves of implementation in consists basis over every other context.

Thus strength is something which can't be bend / mend irrespective of situations.

Eg : performance is my strength. I.e i prefer how qualitative performance was it over the other aspects. Thus if i was engaged in any family function and opted work from home ?? Then my strength sustains only when i perform the work with specific benchmark set by my earlier works.

Thus care is taken such that the work is to be completed with in reasonable time and reasonable perfection.

Thus

* i take up reasonably longer time than i evr perfrm my task

* i ensure that all the standards of my specific work nature are followed.

* i specifically take care that non of my personal relations interfere into professional ones.

What circumstances , contexts being out your best ? Why ?

There are many situations where we see lot of eminant people also face hurdles in expressing themselves out of pressure.

The immense pressure of performing wrong in any important task makes them commit a blunder out of pressure.

But iam a person with cool attitude and will always like facing new challenges. A deep hunger of work in me ensures that i don't commit any mistake.

Thus opting me for cracking new deals / innovative presentations or any new challenges can benefit the company than me benefiting myself.

Thus circumstances which require guts rather any other thing are the best situations which i can handle with specific ease.

Who facilitates you being at work ? Why ?

* My very own motivation to prevail at work place is my own passion.

* My hunger for recognition / success at my workplace lights in me every day and night and ensures that i was best in every task which i have taken up.

* thus a flow of aspirations in me energise my every day works.

What keeps you from operating at your best ?

Its like a chain process.

My passion => keeps me going to take fresh challenges => My work hunger keeps me doing that task => task gets completed with best possible quality => results in appreciation => increases my passion.

And it continues always.
