A) Difference between the Applied business research vs. Basic business research :-
Applied business research :- Applied business research is the research that is designed to solve specific practical problems. It is concerned with development of technology. It's goal to find out solution for the problem at hand.
Basic Business research :- Basic business research refers to the study that is aimed at expanding the existing Base of scientific knowledge. It is concerned with developing scientific knowledge and predictions. It's goal to add some knowledge to the existing one.
Difference between Universalistic Research vs. Particularistic research :-
Universalistic means that everybody is treated as subject to the same rules. Particularistic, on the contrary, means that some people are more equal than others. If you need friends or relationship in the government bureaucracy in orderorder to get your imports cleared or your license extended, then that means particularism. Particularistic treatment is not only matter of society at large. The directors of a company as well may have his preferred employees and staff members who have more influence than others.
Difference between deductive reasoning vs. Inductive reasoning:-
Deductive reasoning moves from generalized statement to a valid conclusion, whereas inductive reasoning moves from specific observation to generaization. In deductive reasoning, the conclusions are certain, whereas, In inductive reasoning, the conclusions are probabiliatic.
Difference between interval scale vs. Ratio scales:- The difference between interval and ratio scales comes from their ability to dip below zero. Interval scales hold no true zero and can represent values below zero. For example- you can measure temperature below 0 degrees Celsius, such as-10 degrees.. A ratio scale has the same properties as interval scales.
Difference between quantitative research vs. Qualitative research :-
Qualitative research identifies abstract concepts while quantitative research collects numerical data. But the substantial difference is in the type of action applied and in the size of the sample. Quantitative research investigates a large number of people by submitting questionnaire based on multiple, numeric answers (0 to 10) and open end. Qualitative research investigate a small amount of people, by submitting them physically the product itself, thus collecting a great number of behavioral details on a small sample of users.
