Today the politicians in every nation are helping their nation in reducing the air pollution with the adoption of new innovative technologies. The United States Constitution's Commerce Clause represents one of Congress's most vital sources of legislative powers. The clause provides a protection to the public health and the environment, inclusive of the the Clean Water Act, Clean Air Act, and the Endangered Species Act.
Moreover in today's as well as future era consumerism is the main cause of environmental pollution. The two primary effects of consumerism on the environment are environmental pollution and degradation. Due to the rapid growth in consumerism there is an increased extraction and exploitation of natural resources that results to the accumulation of waste and concentration of pollutants that damages the environment. Also consumption can also determine environmental dumping because most of the developed countries shift their heaviest polluting industries to less developed countries, thus shifting the pollution intensive goods produced elsewhere by developing countries. Protectionism gives an incentive to poor nations to improve the environmental standards and that free trade with richer countries is a reward to raise environmental standards.
