A) Manager A says she will only hire people with the experience and competencies she is looking for because she doesn’t have the time to carry out a lot of on-the-job training. Manager B says she would rather hire a person with the ‘right approach’, or attitude, and then train them herself so the job will be done the ways she wants it. Who do you agree with? Why? Which approach will be more effective in the long run?

I agree with the opinion of manager B because selecting a candidate with the "right approach" or "attitude" will be good for an organization in the long run. It will be easy for an organization to train a candidate with the right attitude. They will be able to understand the importance of teamwork in the organization. People with the right attitude and approach will be more energetic and social in an organizational environment and they might have innovative ideas. They will be good at learning new skills fast.

The following are the three characteristics that should be evaluated during a selection process through the applicant's resume.

  • Suitability of the educational qualification of the candidate.
  • The employment history of the candidate.
  • Special skills of the candidate.

Telephone interview

The following are the three characteristics that should be evaluated during a selection process through telephone interviews.

  • Reason for applying for a particular position.
  • Communication ability of the candidate.
  • The interest of the candidate in the job.

Face-to-face interview

The following are the three characteristics that should be evaluated during a selection process through a face-to-face interview.

  • The flexibility of a candidate.
