1. The COVID-19 pandemic has brought financial difficulties to some workers in the private sector of Ghana. There have been calls on the Social Security and National Insurance Trust to consider giving people currently contributing to the Scheme some of their monies during this period of mass unemployment because of layoffs?

a.COVID-19 Affected economy of all of the world and its affect badly to workers.Ghana is also effected badly by COVID-19.The economy of Ghana is badly affected by Covid.Many workers have no work and their financial position is badly affected by COVID-19.So the call made on the social security and National Insurance  Trust to consider giving people currently contributing to the Scheme some of their monies during this period of mass unemployment because of layoffs is absolutely great step taken to improve the financial position of workers.The effects on Ghana are more compare to other countries as the economic relations with China are more consolidated than ever before.So according to me it is correct decision for the welfare of people who are facing mass employment.

b.Following are the reason why I consider the call is absolutely correct.

1.Due to downfall of banking sector of ghana-As we know that the banking sector of ghana is badly affected by COVID-19 and many Employee worked in banking sector earlier facing job problem.So they need financial assistance to survive in such crisis.

2.Due to business Organization which do a business importing goods from china-Due to corona many business Organization of ghana which import goods from china and sell it their people shut down or stop the business because they are not able to import from china.So such business Organization and people involve in Organization needed financial support for their life.

3.Due to downfall of oil industry-in ghana the oil industry is badly affected by COVID-19 and people who are working in such industry facing financial problem and many have no job.So financial support is required to such workers.

4.Due to Downfall in value of cocoa-the value of cocoa is decreased due to effect of COVID-19 so many people who work in Organization loss their job,So financial support required for a worker who loss employment.

The call taken for welfare of workers in Ghana at current situation is great and deserve appreciation.
