Your goal, therefore, will be to present in an intelligible and interesting manner the main arguments of the opposing sides of an issue and then mediate between them. If each of us ought to be free to assume risks that we think are worth taking,shouldn't players have the same freedom as anyone else?in particular,if players prefer the gains in performance allegedly provided by the use of steroids,along with increased risk of harm to the alternative of less risk and worse performance,what gives anyone the right to interfere with their choice?Afterall,if we should should not forbid smokers from risking their health by smoking,why should we prohibit base ball players from taking risks with thier health in pursuit of thier golas?

BUT Performace enhancers(steroids)and other forms of doping have a negative effect on longterm health.For then users of these steroids are hurting themselves in the long run without on the average improving their short term rewards from atheletic competetion,as long as competitiors also use harmful enhancers.This is the main rationale for trying to ban steroids and other forms of doping from base ball competitions.

The steroids mainly anabolic -androgen steroids(i.e.example-testosterone) has two types of effects

Anabolic effects-promote muscle building

androgenic effect-for male traits like facila hair,deeper voice.

some players take straight testosterone to boost their performance oftenly tsking steroids are modifications of testosterone.These harmones have approved medical uses ,improves performances.can be taken as pills,injections,topical also is available .

BUT also steroids causes tendinitis,liver tumors and abnormalities,increased LDL(bad cholestrol),elevated blood pressure,depression etc as side effects

on other hand it also causes prominent breasts ,baldness,shrunken testicles,infertility in males and increased body hair,baldness,irregular mensuration,deep voice in females
