Q) What attitudes do the following body movements suggest to you? Do these movements always mean the same thing? What part does context play in your interpretations?
Ans- We study the body movements in order to understand the expression made by people. This is achieved through understanding the Non-verbal Communication. These body movements meaning may varry, depending upon the expression which arrises with involvement from other body parts. Lets understand this non verbal communication with these question been asked:-
(a) Whistling, wringing hands : This means that the person is nervous & is insecure. This can happen during interview time or when a person is hidding some serious issues. In context if wringing hands is mixed with short breadths it means the person is frustrated.
(b) Bowed posture, twiddling thumbs : Twiddling thumbs it arrises mainly when the person is desperately waiting for longer time. This can happen when a person is waiting for his interview rounds. In context twiddling thumbs is also a sign of nervousness. And, Bowed posture simply means person lacks interest. This can arrise during lecture, social gathering etc.
(c) Steepled hands, sprawling sitting position : Such position may have various meaning. It can state that the person is in sentimental deep thought. It also means that the person is confertable and relaxed.
(d) Rubbing hand through hair : It means that the something is tingling inside brain either because of attraction or nervousness.
(e) Open hands, unbuttoned coat : Open hand and unbuttoned coat means oppeness. This arrises when a person is comfertable with the gatthering or audience. It doesnot have any different meaning.
(f) Wringing hands, tugging ears : This means nervousness. This can arrise when person is hiding(some secrets) or lying something. In context we can say that the person is suspicious when added with hubbing of nose.
